The Project
For Broadband to have a positive effect on Northwest businesses, real applications need to be shown to real business people, solving real business issues.

The use of Broadband applications offering excellence, innovation and penetration are essential.
The present uptake and implementation of Broadband in SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) is characterised by reluctance and caution. This, on the whole, is caused by a lack of familiarity with the technology and knowledge of actual applications for Broadband.
Current efforts of 'tell me' initiatives have not succeeded in breaking through the reluctance and caution. The eLaboratory project has been designed explicitly to overcome these prejudices through a 'show me' approach, by demonstrating actual implementations of Broadband technology in association with real business applications.
More specific trials of Broadband configuration and applications for a particular industry sector and specific SMEs will follow the original demonstration.
As a precursor to, and support for such demonstrations, the eLaboratory will facilitate this development.
The eLaboratory will enable organisations to develop and trial new and innovative applications for Broadband in Northwest Businesses.
